The Strike Alert HD handheld Lightning Detector is a budget level detector capable of providing forewarning to the approach of severe weather conditions, which can aid in determinations for the
suspension and resumption of workplace procedures due to lightning..
The Strike Alert HD includes a full colour LCD graphical display that shows an approximated detected strike distance, as well as a storm intensity trend graph for the past hour of operation.
Strike Alert HD is an “Instant Ranging Device” (IRD) meaning that every detected “Cloud to Ground” lightning strike within 60kms is ranged immediately via the four (4) distance LED’s, from the very first strike detected.
Strike Alert HD provides its threat notification via its 80 dB audible speaker, four (4) colour coded LED’s, and a unique vibrate function, which allows additional threat recognition for users.
Note that the 80 dB audible alert level may not be heard in some higher background noise environments.
The Strike Alert HD is powered by 2 x non rechargeable alkaline AA batteries which can achieve up to 80 hours of continuous operation. There is no option for internal recharge and users must consider the need for high consumables when using this equipment.
